We all knew that these teams didn't like each other, and did they show it. Every battle along the boards was a little more intense. Every goalie stoppage had the opposing players rushing in for a taste, but of course, every player had something to say. But at the end of the day, it's not who got the most penalties, or who talked the most on the floor, it's who won the game. Well when the dust settled after this one, The Dirt Rats would lay claim to game 1 with a comeback win in OT. This may sound like a broken record, but it looks to be working for the Rats, as Andrew Petrucci would have another great night including scoring the OT winner a mere 47 seconds into the game.
The Autobots looked a little sluggish, and the Dirt Rats got to their old ways, as penalties would cost them the lead late in the game. However as Giovanni was nursing his arm during the game, he lit a fire under the players on the bench... Well, the guys who were left there, and it sparked the Rats. They came out flying in OT and would score a beauty to stun the Autobots, and take game 1, with a final of 4-3.
Game 2 goes Tuesday night after the long weekend, which kicks off championship night at the hangar. Come with your popcorn, come with your beverages, because this one is gonna be a dandy!!!
